Weil Buenos Aires einfach der Hammer ist, haben wir die Zeit vom 04. – 29. Maerz komplett in und um die argentinische Hauptstadt verbracht!
Buenos Aires hat einfach alles was man fuer ein abwechslungsreiches und ausgefuelltes Grossstadtleben braucht: ganz viel Kunst und Kultur, noch mehr Underground (und das in jeglicher Hinsicht), wunderschoene alte Gebaeude sowie stylische Neubauten (zwischendrin natuerlich auch die ein oder andere Bausuende, aber das gehoert auch dazu ;-), eine offene und freundliche Mentalitaet der Bewohner, tolle kleine Laedeleins, Cafes und Restaurant fuer jeden Geldbeutel und ueberhaupt sehr viel Leben!
Man nehme bissl New York (Manhattan wie auch Bronx), fuege reichlich Barcelona und Madrid hinzu und garnniere alles mit Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Schanze und Glockenbach - scho hast's!

Die erste Woche hatten wir ein Apartment im Tangoviertel San Telmo zusammen mit Fish, der hier seine letzten Urlaubstage mit uns verbrachte, und dann noch mit Doris und Mirco, die uns fuer 3 Tage besuchten, gemietet. Wir hatten alle zusammen eine Superzeit (soooo schee, dass ihr do ward!!!!) nicht zuletzt weil unser Apartment mit einer eigenen Bar ausgestattet war!Die naechste Zeit verbrachten wir dann ‘couchsurfend’ in den unterschiedlichsten Stadtteilen, aber durchweg bei tollen Menschen, die uns ihre Stadt (jeder auf seine Weise) naeher gebracht haben:
- Melina (im Vorort Vicente Lopez), mit der wir uns auf Anhieb suuupergut verstanden, die uns sogar zum Familienessen bei ihrer Oma mitnahm, ihren geliebten Kater Tito mit uns teilte ;-) und in deren sympathischen Freundeskreis wir uns nach und nach vollends einschlichen ;-)
- Lucia (auch in Vicente Lopez), von wo aus wir einen Ausflug nach Tigre mit seinem einmaligen Flussdelta machten
- Paula und Javier (mitten im In-Stadtviertel Palermo), mit denen wir leider nur 3 Tage hatten (ihr haettet euren Urlaub aber wirklich verschieben koennen ;-), dafuer aber sehr gute und umso intensivere Gespraeche
- Diamante (Palermo-Recoletta), die uns das Elternschlafzimmer in der Wohnung im 23. Stock eines Luxushochhauses ueberliess und mit der wir lustige Kniffel-Reiseplanungs-Schlemmerabende verbrachten
- Ana (wieder Palermo), eine Freundin von Melina, die uns mit den besten selbstgemachten Empanadas verwoehnte, die perfekte Grundlage fuer eine anschliessende Partynacht
- Julien (Recoletta), mit dem wir gemeinsam beim Ultimate Frisbee spielen waren
Allen hier auch nochmal viiiielen Dank fuer die tolle Zeit und dass ihr uns so freundlich aufgenommen habt!

Mit Hakan und Kathrin (Freunden von uns aus Muenchen, die ihren Argentinienurlaub mit ein paar Tagen Buenos Aires begannen) unternahmen wir dann auch noch die ersten Gehversuche beim Tango und freuten uns erneut ueber heimische Gesellschaft.

UNNUETZES BUENOS AIRES WISSEN
- zum Tango fordert man sich durch Augenkontakt und Zunicken auf
- Buenos Aires hat (angeblich) die breiteste und laengste Strasse der Welt, Avenida 9 de Julio
- der ‘Rio Plata’ ist eher ein ‘Rio Brauno’ ;-)
- Security Gorillas heissen hier ‘Prevencion’
- der Fussballplatz im Stadion ‘La Bombonera’ von den ‘Boca Juniors’ hat die kleinsten von der Fifa zulaessige Laenge - 105m x 68m (uebrigens ist der Platz vom FC Weil viel groesser!)
- die Vereinsfarben von ‘Boca Juniors’ sind die der schwedischen Flagge, da man die der Nation des naechsten in den Hafen einlaufenden Schiffes auswaehlte
- Buenos Aires ist die bislang ‘europaeischste’ Stadt auf unserer Reise
- eine U-Bahn oder Busfahrt (egal wie weit) kostet schlappe 1,10 argent. Peso (19 Eurocent)
- Altschwabing heisst hier San Telmo, Glockenbach heisst Palermo, Bogenhausen heisst Recoletta und Gruenwald heisst San Isidro ;-)

Since we completely fell in love with Buenos Aires, we spent the period from 4th to 29th March completely in and around the Argentinean capital!
Buenos Aires just has everything you need for a diversified and filled life within a big city: loads of art and culture, even more underground (in any sense of the word), beautiful old buildings and very stylish new ones (of course there are some eyesores in between as well ;-), an open and friendly mentality, loads of small design shops, cafes and restaurants for any budget and in general just a lively atmosphere. Just take a bit of New York (Manhattan as well as Bronx), add a bit of Barcelona and Madrid to it and garnish it with the best Berlin, Hamburg and Munich have to offer – et voila!

The first week we rented an apartment in THE Tango district San Telmo together with Fish, who spent his last vacation days there with us, and with Doris and Mirco, who stayed with us for 3 days. We had a brilliant time together, and not just because we had a bar in our apartment!
The following time we ‘couchsurfed’ the different neighborhoods with consistently interesting and open-minded people, who all showed us their city from different perspectives:
- Melina (in the suburb of Vicente Lopez), with whom we had a very close relationship from the start, who even took us to her family dinner one night at her grandma’s place, who shared her beloved cat ‘Tito’ with us and in whose sympathetic circle of friends we crept in step by step ;-)
- Lucia (as well in Vicente Lopez), from whose place we mada a day trip to the unique river delta next to Tigre
- Paula and Javier (in the middle of the In-district Palermo), with whom we unluckily just spent 3 days (you guys really could have postponed your holidays ;-), but with whom we shared great discussions
- Diamante (Palermo-Recoletta), who entrusted us the sleeping room of her parents in an apartment on the 23th floor of a luxury skyscraper and with whom we had very funny Yatzee-travelplanning-wine and dine evenings
- Ana (again Palermo), a friend of Melina, who prepared the best self-made Empanadas for us - the perfect basis for a big night out
- Julien (Recoletta), with whom we enjoyed a very nice Ultimate Frisbee afternoon

With Hakan und Kathrin (two friends of us from Munich, who spent the first days of their Argentina vacation in Buenos Aires) we undertook our first steps in Tango and shared some homelike moments.

USELESS TRAVEL KNOWLEDGE BUENOS AIRES
- with eye contact you ask somebody for a Tango and with nodding you accept
- Buenos Aires has (supposedly) the widest and longest street in the world, Avenida 9 de Julio
- the ‘Rio Plata’ should rather be named ‘Rio Browny’ ;-)
- Security Gorillas are called ‘Prevencion’
- the pitch at La Bombonera is the minimum length required under Fifa regulations - 105m x 68m.
- the colours of the ‘Boca Juniors’ are those of the Swedish flag, since the colours of the nation of the next arriving ship were taken
- Buenos Aires is the most ‘European’ city in our travel so far
- a subway or bus ticket (no matter how far you go) costs only 1,10 argent. Peso (19 Eurocent)
